Kedzie

This is the only Metra station to have its two platforms accessed from opposite sides of a street - inbound platform on the west side of Kedzie Avenue, and outbound platform on the east side.

The inbound platform has this thing which I guess works as a shelter? But the stairs are made of wood - and VERY slippery when wet...

The outbound platform is slightly better - it does have more shelter and the stairs are concrete. Some yellow line though

There is a schedule on this side, too! But it's a year out of date and still has letter fare zones.

The inbound shelter has this sign posted on it...? Never seen this at any other Metra station...

So what's the story?

Kedzie is owned by Union Pacific - not Metra. And while the sign on the schedule is out of date, UP-W trains do stop stopping there before the end of the service day!

The last outbound train to stop there is train number 63, scheduled at 19:09 - and the last inbound is number 64, which is scheduled at 19:38.

And UP is serious about the "No Loitering" - if you go there after the station closes for the day, UP police will come and force you to leave!

"but why?", you ask?

Racism. It's racism.
